You and your colleagues are invited to a free outreach event for businesses in the Neath Port Talbot area hosted by Swansea University, supported by Neath Port Talbot Council. This event will take place on the 6th of June 2024, at the Towers Hotel & Spa in Jersey Marine (SA10 6JL).
The aim of this event is to assist local businesses in becoming part of the manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and support supply chain by:
Informing businesses about the upcoming Floating Wind sector in the area and associated opportunities for local businesses.
Presenting an offer of a no cost Technical Feasibility study to aid development of your ideas for modification, expansion, or redirection of your business to target a supply chain opportunity.
Business Wales will be available to offer support and advice to attendees.
Speakers and exhibitors will include:
Site and platform developers who will discuss the breadth of opportunities.
Local and regional funders who offer business support.
This will be followed by a networking lunch.
Opportunities in the floating offshore wind sector will exist beyond the scope of manufacturing and construction. Opportunities include cabling, mooring, surveys, testing, transportation, communications, ancillary equipment, scrub protection, vessel hire, vessel maintenance, lighting, painting, components and more.
NPT-FLOWRD is a project funded through the Shared Prosperity Fund scheme, which aims to assist local businesses to become part of the supply chain for the developing floating wind sector in the Celtic Sea. It is a partnership between the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Swansea University and Neath Port Talbot (NPT) Council.
